SEALS

Oil or grease seals are used to separate or retain fluids or lubricants and to prevent contamination in rotary applications. Seals are designed in a variety of shapes, sizes, and styles, ranging from single, double, and up to four lips. Case materials consist of either carbon steel or stainless steel. The lip of a seal (sealing element) is made from a variety of materials including nitrile, viton, polyacrylate, silicone, and more. Some seals come with springs to help keep the seal in close contact with the housing or shaft. Spring materials include carbon steel or stainless steel.
